What are the advantages of a gas firefighting system?
HFC gas fire suppression systems
Naviservice Fire & Safety is F-gas certified.
HFCs are the most common group of fluorinated gases. They are used in various sectors and applications, such as refrigerants in refrigeration and air conditioning systems, heat pumps, expanding agents for foams, fire extinguishing agents in fire suppression systems, propellants for aerosols, and solvents. Fluorinated gases extinguish fires by absorbing heat from the flame.
They are considered clean fire suppression systems because they ensure the safety of both humans and the environment. They are non-toxic and do not deplete the oxygen present in the environment where they are deployed, ensuring proper breathing even in the presence of a large number of people. Additionally, they have a very low impact on the greenhouse effect and do not contribute to ozone depletion.
When is it preferable to use an HFC system?
The fire suppression system based on clean HFC-227 gas is activated through a special electrical panel that shuts off utilities and releases the gas safely for the equipment and people present. These systems are suitable for installation in delicate environments and contexts that require specific certifications to ensure safety and effectiveness.
FM200 systems can be used in various settings, including:
- Pleasure boats, to protect the engine compartment and ensure uninterrupted operation.
- Military environments, where there are delicate and fragile machinery and technological equipment.
- Civil and industrial settings.
